The city of Sarajevo will host the second IPA DRAM – Disaster Risk Assessment and Mapping -Steering Committee meeting on November 20 and 21.

The second IPA DRAM Steering Committee, taking place at the Hotel Europe and organized with the kind support of the Ministry of Security BIH, will be the occasion to present, discuss and adopt the partner-specific plans of actions and to see possible regional commonalities and synergies to bring forward to the creation of the regional roadmap. It will be held in connection with the Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Initiative for South Eastern Europe DPPI regional meeting.

The Steering Committee includes two representatives from each Partner, representatives from the European Commission/DG ECHO, Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, the Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Initiative for South Eastern Europe (DPPI), the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and representatives from the consortium members in accordance with the Terms of reference. In addition, UNISDR Europe office has been invited based on its central position and importance to promote and advance disaster risk reduction in the region and UNDP BIH.

The IPA DRAM Steering Committee (SC) has been set up with a role to support and supervise the implementation of the programme through giving general direction and concrete advice. The IPA DRAM Programme aims at strengthening national systems capacities in risk assessment, on disaster loss data collection and risk mapping also taking into consideration the gender perspective, the environmental impact and the civil society involvement.
