The IPA Disaster Risk Assessment and Mapping (DRAM) Regional Workshop and the fifth Steering Committee meeting will be held in Rome from June 10 to June 13.
Organized with the kind support of the Italian Civil Protection Department, the Steering Committee meeting represents the opportunity to gather IPA DRAM Programme’s National Coordinators based in the Partner Countries, Consortium members, delegates from the European Commission including DG ECHO and key international stakeholders for the purpose of supporting as well as overseeing the overall progress of the Programme. The Steering Committee meeting will be held on 12th-13th June and is preceded by the Regional Workshop on 10th – 12th June.
The “4th Regional Workshop – Electronic Regional Risk Atlas” will present the platform developed within the Programme as a common framework for geospatial analyses to support DRR activities, including disaster risk assessment, with a sound background on international strategic frameworks on geospatial information and services for disasters. Since previous workshops have tackled both seismic and wildfire risks, this workshop will pay specific attention to flood risk and flood hazard mapping.
The workshop, which will include keynote presentations by experts from the Programme Consortium but focus on practical simulation exercises, is part of the set of capacity building activities promoted by IPA DRAM to support and guide national authorities in the Programme implementation but also strengthen the regional capacity.
